Good day all, and welcome to our opening Blog.
What is Mule about?
It gives me great pleasure to talk to you about my favorite subject (other than ME of course!) and that is the new start up business that I’ve been working on with some close friends and colleagues; ‘Mule International’. The time is ripe I feel, to share what we are up to.
The core product is a quick-changing heavy duty drawer system for vans or estate cars. (See our video for more info) The variety of adaptations, permutations, uses and accessories for the system is almost limitless, and we’re going to have great fun over the coming years turning many of the design ideas into reality. Keep an eye on our website for application ideas over the forthcoming months.
We’re creative in concept, strong in design, flexible in our approach and determined in our delivery!
What we don’t do?
Racking. There are some excellent existing companies that can fulfill your racking needs, such as Bott or Brystor, who’s products would complement our unique system nicely.
Why are we doing it?
I came up with the basic idea for the system out of frustration, after spending two and a half decades working from the back of vans, and constantly struggling to find things, shuffling gear around, climbing over equipment, and having to empty everything out of the van one thing at a time whenever I wanted to use it for other things like camping, or moving a washing machine. After failing to find a product on the market that did what I wanted it to do, I did what I always do….I went into my shed and made one. I used the new drawer system in my van for several months before a good friend said “you should sell these”. That’s how it all started. I look forward to a time when I can go back to that friend and say ‘Look what you did!!!’
How are we doing it?
Splendid question. Lot’s of talking, thinking, sketching (down the local), more talking, scheming, researching, even more talking, and most importantly….. listening. Once we started, we were stunned by the help that has been offered, advice that has helped steer our course thus far, skills that we didn’t even know people had, and genuine support when support was most needed. For all this we are extremely grateful! We’ve a long way to go, but we’re making excellent headway.
By the way!!!!
If any of you good people out there are looking for an excellent investment opportunity, then here it is! In true Bristol fashion we shall be looking to crowd fund the project in the not too distant future. And if you have a van/vans that could use a little pimping, then come and talk to us. Even if you don’t want to buy, you could help us develop a wish list for future designs.
